Thomas is the founder of A Business Law Firm. He is a second-generation Italian immigrant (1902 and 1912) from a farming community in the Mississippi Delta. His avocation has always been sports, having played football, baseball and track plus earned a basketball scholarship to Delta State University. When the Draft called, Thomas joined the US Marine Corps and made his first trip to South Carolina, Paris Island. Upon his return he began farming on the family farm. After dealing with weather and trade wars he explored a venture into Aquaculture and attended a conference at Point South, SC, where he met a woman who owned an international real estate company and had four children. Working together over 4 years while he returned to school at USC Upstate and completed his undergraduate work, then decided on Emory Law School, they got married.
Graduating in 1992 Thomas focused on the real estate business but soon saw the potential of advising clients in their business. He took the state bars in South Carolina and North Carolina and opened his practice in 1994. Today he directs his sports passion to personal fitness, serves as Saturday Night Grill Master for the family, and on weekends, protects the beach at Hilton Head Island for the Sea Turtles that nest there.
His roots brought with him expertise in Bocce and he had a court built in the garden to share with friends. His wife is a cook and together they created an Italian Farm House “Garlic Harvest” Dinner Party for 50 guests, featuring Converse College students for 20 minute Opera Interludes. Thomas has mentored young lawyers from Spartanburg as well as law students from Italy, Bahrain, Bulgaria and France. He and his wife enjoy paddling the Mountain Rivers and travelling internationally. Hard work has been imbedded in his DNA and when his clients have a problem he is strategically focused on them.
